Petersens hitting road, Burnetts spreading wings

So is this sweet reprise of that old Willie Nelson number On the Road Again an ad or a regular performance? Seeing that Julianne Petersen and her band are set for another farflung whirl of touring, this video surely is an ad by the band's artful promoter, Julianne. Yet, considering the polish, the savoir faire and Julz's ebullient good spirits, one must also grant that this Petersens video is a real crowd pleaser.
The Petersens have a penchant for taking other peoples' big hits and reworking them into something special that one can rehear with pleasure many times over. And On the Road Again is certainly not the first time this globe-trotting group from America's storied Ozarks region has poached from Willie, or for that matter from a person with an image nothing like any one of theirs.
One suspects they get a kick out of taking the works of old devils and remaking them into something everyone can enjoy without blushing. Or maybe that gift just comes naturally...
The main performance is good fun and polished. The second, rough performance during the credit roll by Julz and two siblings in a pickup truck also works well, as you enjoy them enjoying themselves.
Now when you see Ellen in this video, know that she is no longer pregnant. Somewhere near Independence Day, she and her husband, Michael Haygood, greeted the newly arrived Allison Jules into the world. Mike performs with the Haygoods, who follow a workhorse schedule in Branson, Mo., the Ozarks entertainment mecca which is also where the Petersens are based. Allison's big sister Macy is also shown in the accompanying photo.

The Burnett Sisters, a band from Daniel Boone's home territory in North Carolina, is becoming two bands, with sister Kathleen and her husband Colin Ray at last coming back into the Bluegrass world, according to a Bluegrass Today article.
Kathleen and sister Anissa constituted a local duo while at East Tennessee State University, which has a strong Appalachian music program. The two blossomed into the first version of the Burnett Sisters Band, which was composed of all four sisters. The band re-formed after Kathleen left for wedded life with regular player Colin. Now the group is comprised of sisters Anissa, Anneli and Sophia, and Anissa's boyfriend, a talented Brit named Geary Allen.
The new band is tentatively to be named Colin & Kathleen, with the idea that they will be singing duets -- tho right now everything is in the early planning stages. But, my opinion is that tho both have excellent voices and complement each other well, the duet mode will excessively cramp their style(s).
No doubt one issue is Colin's regular employment as a school teacher, which likely must be weighed against the gamble of plunging into professional entertainment full time.
In any case, more power to 'em.
