The Petersens perform Blowin' in the Wind
Well, Julianne Petersen is not exactly a hippie. But she's surely a fan of Bob Dylan.
In her band's latest YouTube release, Julz sings a very fine, delicate lead on that 1960s Dylan world-shaker, Blowin' in the Wind.
The Petersens, an Ozarks string band with a global following, likes to mix nontraditional with traditional Bluegrass.
Julianne doubtless thinks well of Dylan's work because she herself has raised her lyrics to the level of poetry, as has been noted in previous posts. In fact, according to music lore, Robert Allen Zimmerman chose the handle Dylan in honor of the 20th Century Welsh bard, Dylan Thomas.
It’s fine to see a 22-year-old having such fun with the work of an 83-year-old, who wrote what became a standard of the nascent Civil Rights Movement when he was about 22.
