AI boom fizzling?
The corporate world is growing wary of the chatbot revolution, according to the tech journal the Register.

Despite rapid incorporation of AI by employers, early warning signs show that the economic consequences are minimal or negative.
"Instead of depressing wages or taking jobs, generative AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini have had almost no significant wage or labor impact so far – a finding that calls into question the huge capital expenditures required to create and run AI models," writes Thomas Claburn in the Register.
A study by two Danish economists showed little change in labor market statistics with the largescale adoption of chatbots by employers. The study however may already have been overtaken by events -- and so the industry is awaiting newer data.
Still, Open.ai admits to losing money on each query or prompt, the journal says, adding that Microsoft and Amazon are downsizing their investments into AI.
